Idol Headlines: Casey James in Urban Cowboy? Constantine Charges Dropped

Charge Dismissed Against ‘American Idol’ Constantine Maroulis – Maroulis was charged with assault after he allegedly kicked Angel Reed, the mother of his 4-year-old daughter, in the groin and pulled her hair during an argument last month, authorities said. Maroulis claims he acted in self-defense and was injured during the alleged altercation. Marouils and his lawyer John Hogan appeared in court before Judge Russel B. Teschon. Hogan testified that Maroulis and Reed have agreed to go their separate ways and a plea agreement was reached. As part of the agreement and subsequent judicial dismissal, Maroulis did not have to admit that anything wrong happened between him and Reed. – Read more at Patch.com

Casey James Featured in Urban Cowboy Pilot

American Idol season 9 alum, Casey James, was on the “Urban Cowboy” set. “What an amazing day…Working with the Roughnecks. On set with the cast of #urbancowboy.” FOX is developing the show, which was in the casting process a month ago, as described by Rolling Stone magazine. The pilot is probably being shot now. The new series will shoot in Austin Texas. Casey James being a Texan couldn’t have hurt! Currently not sure if the singer has been cast as a regular, or in a guest spot. More will be revealed, I’m sure.

‘Big Brother 17’: Eighth Juror Zings the Final Three Houseguests – Once evicted always evicted as the rock star dentist Johnny Mac proves that a second chance in playing Big Brother does not grant you a seat in the final three. The Pennsylvania native and comic relief of this season did make it further than any other returning juror in season’s past so he does deserve some credit. The day after his eviction, he tells The Hollywood Reporter about getting on the show, his relationship with Becky and who he thinks had the best diary room sessions of the summer. – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

Mega Buzz: Cookie’s Starting a Rival Record Label on Empire!I’ll be putting up an Empire teaser post soon, but in the meantime, here’s a tidbit from TV Guide: Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) are going to war on Empire. But rather than continue trying to merely reclaim power over Lucious’ record label, Cookie decides to start her own. “She’ll branch off and do her own thing,” Henson tells TVGuide.com, “because Lucious is going to continue to be as difficult as he can be because that’s just who he is. And you know what they say, you can’t keep a good woman down. So if you can’t can’t beat ’em and you can’t join ’em, go build your own.” – TV Guide
