Northfield’s Fry reflects on ‘American Idol’ experience – Fry wanted to change his style to bring a little more energy to the Idol stage, and chose to perform Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” for the judges. “I love that song,” Fry said. “All of the songs I had played previously on the show were all slow or more singer-songwriter. I wanted to do something that was a little more energetic and show off my performance-side a bit more.” “Everyone was incredibly professional to me all the time,” Fry said. “They always let me perform the way I wanted to. Nobody tried to coerce me into performing or saying something specific.” “Album sales have been exciting,” Fry said. “You have a big spike when you release them, then it slopes down to a floor. After Idol, there was a spike, but that floor has been lifted. Daily, I sell more albums now than I ever have as an artist.” – Read more at Chicago Tribune

‘American Idol’ Alum Pia Toscano Goes EDM, Releases New Single via Beatport – “When I was presented with the opportunity I said I definitely want to try this,” Toscano tells Billboard. “I listen to EDM all the time, but it was not something that I ever thought was going to be suited for my voice.” The genesis of “Renegades” began in Jenaux’s studio on the Upper East Side. He had come up with the riff and sent it to Lee, who in turn worked out the lyrics with Toscano. “We co-wrote the song together, and Jenaux sent us the track and Jared was like, ‘Hey, this would be amazing for your voice, do you want to write to it?'” she says. “We wrote a song that was very tailored to my voice so it worked out perfectly. I never thought I would end up in the EDM world but I am definitely happy that it was with Jenaux, because I think he is an amazing upcoming artist and DJ and I think he is going to have a huge career.” – Read more at Billboard
Chris Soules’s Bachelor Blog: ‘One of the Hardest Days of My Life’ – Knowing I was about to say goodbye to Kaitlyn hurt me so much, especially after the incredible day and night we had just spent together. Saying goodbye to her was physically painful. I could feel the sadness in her eyes, and, trust me, I was really hurting too. Man, that was brutal. It was just as hard to watch it. – Read more at People
