Randy Jackson on Next Season’s ‘American Idol’: ‘Greatest Show of Its Kind Ever’ – Jackson said that that new panel — containing Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. — is “amazing” and will make the upcoming season of Idol the “greatest show of its kind ever.” “I know them all very, very well. They’re all amazing people, great in their own right, very credible, really cool, funny,” he added, saying that viewers could expect a lot of inside jokes from the group. ‘American Idol’ Candice Glover talks about song-writing, church and her return home for free concert Thursday – Glover has been working with the Jackie Boyz, a multiplatinum song-writing duo originally from Savannah, who have written for singers like Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Flo Rida. The track list for her debut album is set, but the Jackie Boyz are helping her with the words. Glover dabbled in song-writing even before her “Idol” fame, but was always insecure and shy about what she wrote. “They taught me everybody can be a song-writer,” Glover said in a phone interview Wednesday. – Read more at Island Packet.com

Nigel Lythgoe & Mary Murphy ‘Get It On’ at the ‘SYTYCD’ Finale – The whole idea to do the surprise spoof was came from Mary. “The fans have been asking us to dance together, everywhere I go, and I always said we never would,” she told Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks backstage after the finale. “But when I saw Amy and Fik-Shun do that number, immediately I turned to Nigel and said, ‘We’ve got to dance that.’ He was like, ‘What?’ I don’t know what it was, but it was so cute, and the humor in it was so great.” “I think we wanted to show that we take to heart that we know what it’s like to get in front of a camera and sometimes embarrass yourself,” said Nigel. “The annoying thing for me was I always tell the kids every week, ‘Don’t dance with your shoulders up’ — but when watching it back, I saw that my shoulders were up!
