Bowersox concert at Florence Civic Center canceled – FLORENCE, S.C. – Thursday night’s Crystal Bowersox concert at The Uptown Ballroom at the Florence Civic Center was canceled Monday. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase. “The idea of The Uptown Ballroom is to bring new talents to the area. We knew full-well there would be a few obstacles trying to figure out which artists and genres the people want to see. Kix Brooks Had to Turn Down a Role on ‘Nashville’ – In addition to being an award-winning singer and songwriter, Kix Brooks is also noted actor. But in spite of his love for being in front of the camera, Brooks has revealed that he turned down a role on the hit ABC drama ‘Nashville.’ “They gave me a great opportunity,” Brooks reveals to ABC News Radio. “Made me an offer to play a great part about a homeless person who had been in the music business and was kind of washed up. It was, like, six episodes, and I was just booked.” Unfortunately, by the time the show’s producers asked him to join the cast, Brooks’ concert schedule was already full. Movie star Mykelti Williamson, who has appeared in ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Con Air,’ among other films, took the role instead. “I really, really wanted to do it,” Brooks adds, “but it’s not like you can go cancel shows because you gotta do another one.” – Read more at The Boot
‘Nashville’ Actors Drop ‘Meaty’ Hints on Season Three’s Return – How that turns out for his country superstar character is, he hints, an unleashing of his introspective side. “This half of the season, it’s fun that I’m not doing the bro country stuff anymore, even though I love doing that stuff,” says Chase. “We get to go inside Luke a little bit; I appreciate the writers doing that.” This season, the Broadway-gone-Nashville star will perform “If I Drink This Beer,” a song in which Luke debates having just one more and then telling his ex-fiancée, Rayna Jaymes, exactly how he feels. “I don’t think Rayna is completely innocent in all this, and there’s a couple of scenes where he lets her know that,” Chase says of the aftermath of Rayna calling off their wedding with just a few hours to go. “The fun part for me is that now Luke’s not afraid to show his feelings. One thing that I know about having gone through breakups is that even if it’s your decision and it feels like something that is necessary and the right thing to do, that doesn’t mean that it feels great and it’s still incredibly painful. Sometimes making the most important choices in our lives can be very painful and difficult. She didn’t want to hurt him. It was obviously a very public breakup. She probably wasn’t that [cool with the way everything] went down.
