‘Idol’ star Elise Testone returns to Northeast for next chapter in her career – “I took three long trips to New York City, just fell in love with the scene and got inspired all over again,” the 31-year-old Testone said recently from an airport layover on her way to the National Association of Music Merchants trade show. “There are so many people who are talented. There’s a different level of seriousness in the city, because there has to be. I need that right now.” She has reunited with friend and guitarist Adam Fallen, and they are recording with a full band at a Connecticut studio and working on booking concert dates in the area for the spring. – Read more at North Jersey
David Cook talks about new sound ahead of Cain’s show Wednesday – “After ‘Idol,’ I bought a piano because I thought, ‘Oh, I’m a musician. I should buy a piano now,’?” Cook told the Tulsa World in a recent telephone interview. “I didn’t play it for a long time, then it wasn’t until really moving to Nashville that, for some reason, I was like, ‘I have this piano in the house. I should start playing it.’?” And he did. What came out the other end was a different sound for Cook, known on the show and later by legions of fans for his hard-rocking style.
