Phillip Phillips grandmother, Dorothy Wilson Jacks, died yesterday (11/7) Read her obituary posted in the Albany Herald: Born in Morgan County, TN, Aileen moved to Albany from Gobey, TN with her husband in 1950. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Jacks was preceded in death by a daughter Karole Jan Stroud and her parents Clifford and Mamie Wilson. ##Survivors include her husband Ben Jacks, Jr., three daughters Kay (Richard) Parker and Jill Ann (Joey) Coffey all of Albany, GA, and Sheryl (Donnie) Phillips of Leesburg, GA, eight grandchildren Paul Parker, Matthew Parker, and Ladonna Phillips Urick all of Albany, GA, Lacey Phillips Neil of Warner Robing, GA, Phillip Phillips and Brandi Stroud Hunter both of Leesburg, GA, Dianna Stroud Atkinson of Ashburn, GA, and Karole Lynn Stroud of Tifton, GA, a sister Shirley Wilson (Arthur) Jones of Oliver Springs, TN, and eight Great-Grandchildren. – Read more at AlbanyHerald.com

Interview: Paul McDonald – Ah, American Idol alums…such talent, but where do they go after the show? We suppose some sign with indie labels, some try to break-out on their own and some take some time to reflect and refine their sound. One alum in particular started flashing on the industry radar recently…2011’s, Paul McDonald. McDonald, the adorable, scruffy-faced, Alabama-native with the mega-watt smile, captured viewers hearts with his killer pipes and boyish charm. Fast-forward to 2014. McDonald is back and better than ever; wiser certainly, and complete with a matured, evolved sound which will be released on his new album via a Kickstarter campaign (which you can donate to HERE). McDonald recently released the music video for the LP’s first single, “Bright Lights,” which illuminates the whirlwind surrounding his past couple of years.
