Idina Menzel to Sing National Anthem, John Legend, America The Beautiful at the Super Bowl


Broadway and Frozen star Idina Menzel and singer-songwriter John Legend are set to perform the National Anthem and America the Beautiful, respectively at the Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday Feb 1.

Idina joins a long line of stars, including Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Neil Diamond, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks who have performed the Star Spangled Banner before the big game.

John Legend is fresh off a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for the Selma song “Glory.” The singer is having an amazing year so far!

Actress Treshelle Edmond will perform both the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language.

Super Bowl XLIX kicks off Sunday, Feb. 1, at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona and will air live on NBC. Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz will take the field to perform at halftime.
