2022 American Idol runner-up HunterGirl releases of her stirring new song “Lonely Outta You” today.

Written by HunterGirl, Sarah Buxton and Jimmy Robbins, the concept came to HunterGirl during her time on American Idol. The idea was born from conversations with her fellow contestants – in particularly the men – who were having to do a lot of press and found it difficult to open up about their feelings. It felt lonely to her and led to a period of reflection about the prolific number of songs about guys wanting to make a girl a little less lonely, while there are none addressing the loneliness in men. Upon returning to Nashville after American Idol, Hunter went into the studio where that reflection became what is now “Lonely Outta You.”

“There are a lot of songs about guys telling girls, ‘Hey, you’re lonely, let me make you less lonely,’ and when I was thinking about that, there aren’t really songs from a girl’s perspective on this that makes the same connection,” says HunterGirl. “Everybody gets lonely sometimes. I wanted to give another perspective and tell the other side of the story.”

Praised by Country superstar Luke Bryan as the “new age Miranda Lambert” and his “favorite female voice,” the singer has deeply immersed herself in Nashville’s songwriting community and just wrapped her co-headlining tour with 2022 American Idol winner Noah Thompson. Most recently she opened for Lainey Wilson at her sold-out Nashville show earlier this month. Hunter will be hitting the road on select dates with Luke Bryan, Parmalee, Josh Turner and Luke Combs for his pre-show tailgate stage.

A Tennessee native, singer/songwriter HunterGirl has been performing since she was three years old and writing songs since she was 9. In her early teens, she performed at venues across the United States, competed in singing competitions and won the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown.

After graduating high school, she moved to Nashville and immediately started playing gigs at Nashville’s most famous venues including Tootsie’s, Rippy’s, Jason Aldean’s Bar, The Listening Room, and Honky Tonk Central, winning songwriting contests such as “Nash Next” and the prestigious “Nashville Songwriter Association International” in her spare time.

Having family members in the military, HunterGirl is inspired to work with veteran organizations where she uses music therapy to transform veterans’ stories into songs.

Hunter performed her heartfelt original American Idol winner’s song, “Red Bird” on Live with Kelly & Ryan and has appeared on Good Morning America. The singer released her first post-American Idol song, “Hometown Out of Me” last fall via 19 Recordings/BBR Music Group.
