First Person: My ‘American Idol’ Experience, by Allison Iraheta – There definitely wasn’t enough time to figure out what kind of an artist I wanted to be. I had red hair and a raspy voice; therefore, I was the “rocker chick.” It wasn’t a problem for me at all because I just wanted to sing. I also didn’t mind the producers of the show making decisions for me. I didn’t know who I was, but I knew that I wanted to have fun more than anything. I was completely aware that I was in the best place a 16-year-old could possibly be. This long essay is full of insight. Definitely worth the read…Yahoo Music

Q. I read that you had originally come to DC’s attention by inking over pencils provided to you by Jim Lee. Is that the case? A. Actually, no. I became friends with Jim Lee. I was a fan of his work, and I reached out to him on MySpace after I got off (American) Idol because that was kinda before Twitter even. We were still in the dinosaur ages of social media! Chris Daughtry Talks Drawing The New ‘Batman’ Cover, Comic Books And ‘The Passion’ – When they first told me that I was going to sing Evanescence, I was like “Really? You’re making me do ‘Bring Me To Life’ with the rap and everything?” But [they] found a way to make it work, even though it’s not a song that I would normally do.
