In the five years since you won American Idol, you’ve had highs and lows. For people who want to know about your career right now, what is your management and label situation?
We’re definitely in between. The label thing was definitely more of a surprise. We put out a few records and all of them went No. 1 on their respective chart. It was a little bit of a surprise and you can only do so much. It was a business decision. It was nothing personal there. I’m looking at a couple of different options out in front of us and figuring out a few things contractually. It’s a lot of business stuff that the fans don’t care about. But once we get the contract stuff figured out, we should have some stuff in front of us pretty soon. The music’s ready and the people we’re talking to know that, and they’re excited about that. So, hopefully it’s in the very near future, and the management should be in the near future too. I’ve had talks with everybody in town – lots of folks. I’m excited about some of those options too. – Read more at Music Row

It’s an American wheat ale with blood orange. “The beer that’s actually going to be crafted here, we’re actually going to call it Hanging with the Band Ale, which is a song on my new record coming out in the fall,” Johnson said. “It’s just gonna be cool. The beer is gonna be delicious, and it’s got a cool little name to it.” Asheville Brewing will have just 500 bottles of the beer for sale. A launch party will be hosted there on June 24. Johnson will be on hand at the Coxe Avenue brewpub to sign bottles of Hanging with the Band Beer. – Read more at WLOS.com

The Voice Winner Alisan Porter: Christina Aguilera Says It’s Time to Put on My Big-Girl Panties! – Have you had time to have conversations with your new record label yet about what you’re album’s going to be, or when they expect you to start working on it?
Not quite yet but we’re going to meet this week, so I am really, really looking forward to that. Do you want to write all the songs, or co-write all the songs, or are you open to including some songs by other writers? I’m totally open. If a song was right for me and I didn’t write it, I would absolutely include it, if it blended well with what we were writing. I definitely want to write as much as possible, but I’m not opposed to other writers whatsoever. No. I love songwriters, and I love hearing other people’s takes on what they think it would be cool for me to sing. I think it’s going to be a mix of all of that. – Read more at Parade.com

He’s incredible and was always there for me for whatever I needed. – Read more at Broadway World

Cassadee Pope Shares Track-By-Track Insight Into ‘Summer’ EP – Cassadee Pope‘s Summer EP was a labor of love. While crafting the four-track project, which features three songs co-written by Pope, the singer was determined to find the very best songs — which made selecting those four included tunes “really hard.” “I knew that I wanted “Alien” on there; that’s a song that I’ve had in my back pocket for quite some time,” Pope tells The Boot. “”Summer” was also a song I had written a while ago, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted that one or another one that was in the running.” – Read more at The Boot

Fifth Harmony Says “We’ve Definitely Found Ourselves” on New Album “7/27” – Fifth Harmony made a big splash with their debut album Reflections and its smash single “Worth It.” But the group thinks that the songs on their brand-new album, 7/27, shows how much they’ve progressed from that first record. “I think that just by listening to it for the first time, you guys’ll definitely be able to see the growth, just lyrically,” says group member Normani Kordei. “I think that as women we’ve definitely found ourselves, because we’ve been through a lot this year, but also as musicians, and it really translates through the songs.” – Read more at ABC News Radio

America’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell on Joining the Judges’ Table – What’s it going to be like this year with you at the judges’ table? I think we have really good chemistry. We are comfortable, funny. My main thing was that I wanted to improve the level of the music acts coming on. I think that is the one thing we haven’t done as well as we should have. We had one successful singer, Jackie Evancho, and another one who slipped through the net, unfortunately. But I felt like we needed better music talent. That is the main difference. – Read more at Parade.com
