Fantasia Barrino Hopes ‘American Idol’ Reboot Will Do ‘Well,’ But Says the Show ‘Ran Its Course’ – Fantasia Barrino is getting “honest” about the forthcoming reboot of American Idol. “I hope that it does really [well],” the American Idol winner told ET on Tuesday. “It had a long run, that’s a blessing in itself.” Still, Barrino doesn’t think the reboot can have the same impact as its predecessor without three major stars: Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. “The only way that I feel that it can come back as strong as it was is if they bring back the original group [of judges],” she said. “But it ran its course,” she pointed out before reiterating that it’s a “blessing” that the show’s initial installment aired for 15 seasons. – Watch the Video at Entertainment Tonight

‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ with Haley Reinhart – THE CHRONICLE: What was it like performing with your parents so young? HALEY REINHART: It was a thrill, and it put a lot of things in perspective. I was super emotional after I performed and overwhelmed with pure joy. I knew in that moment, and even prior to that, this was something I wanted to do and take it as far as I could. I am thankful to have watched my parents, who are still happily married, not only make it work but have it be their passion and make their band, Midnight, and other groups live on. – Read more at Columbia Chronicle.com

David Archuleta talks about discovering his voice in music – “I felt I had discovered a new part of me as a missionary,” he told Idol Chatter. “When I came back to the music world, I felt the missionary self and the old self before my mission were clashing. I wasn’t either of them anymore, but I felt I had to still choose between the two of who I was now allowed to be. “I needed time to learn I wasn’t entirely either of them anymore, yet both times were a part of me and it was up to me to decide this self I would create now moving forward. “I still struggle with being motivated to move forward — I always have, with old me, missionary me, and current me — but part of this challenge to stay motivated to keep going is exactly what I’ve written about. That I don’t have to be invincible to keep trying and pushing forward.” – Read more at Idol Chatter

Chatting with Local NBC The Voice Contestant Dylan Gerard – Gerard has followed his gut both onstage and off after a serious car accident almost cost his sister her life. Both Gerard and his sister Sara Beth Summer were involved in music. The two often appeared in community theatre productions throughout Jacksonville, and Gerard enjoyed moderate success with his band Don’t Sigh Daisy, opening for Switchfoot, Young the Giant, and fun. In 2013, Sara Beth was in a serious car accident on I-10 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. During the weeks following the accident, Gerard stepped away from music and focused his attention on helping his sister overcome her injuries. He noticed the number of people who contributed to her care on a daily basis, all of whom played an integral part in her recovery. Gerard decided to go back to school, determined that a medical career would allow him to give other families the same level of compassion. “There wasn’t a whole lot of my backstory that was shown. – Read more at EUJacksonville.com
