Country music, TV star Kellie Pickler sees music as way to lighten hearts – “Because I grew up in a small town, we never really had anyone come there to perform in Albemarle,” Pickler said. Six years after ‘Idol,’ Simon Cowell is still aiming barbs at Ryan Seacrest – It’s been more than six years since Simon Cowell left “American Idol” — and he’s still taking shots at Ryan Seacrest. The two TV moguls, who first worked together on “American Idol” — Cowell as the snarky judge on the Fox singing competition and Seacrest as its host — frequently traded tongue-in-cheek barbs and insults on the air. And while both have always insisted they are quite friendly, Cowell now says “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon is simply a better man. “If you’re judging them based upon sincerity, Ryan is about a two, while Nick is a nine-and-a-half,” Cowell tells The News’ TV Editor, Don Kaplan. – Read more New York Daily News

Simon Cowell: Pop talent still shines brighter on TV than YouTube – “I personally thought there would be far more breakout artists a year coming from YouTube after Justin (Bieber). Maybe about 20 a year when he came along. And actually that’s not the case, so there’s a huge argument to keep these kinds of shows going.
