AGT and The Voice contestant Brooke Simpson Invited to the White House for Native American Heritage Month celebration.

The celebration took place at the White House on November 15. Brooke, a member of the North Carolina  Haliwa-Saponi tribe wrote on Instagram “Last night I was invited to The White House for their first Native American Heritage Month celebration. To see the white house filled with so much Indigenous culture and beauty made me so emotional. Beyond grateful, it was such an honor to have this opportunity alongside my Nike N7 family, and so much of Native country. It also was a reminder of what this nation was built on. As I walked the halls gazing at portraits of (all but 2) white faces, I couldn’t help but think about the name on the deed at the house and who the land actually belongs to. A true mix of emotions from a descendant of a nation already here and thriving before USA put up its “coming soon” sign.” She returned to NYC to resume playing Roger Sherman in 1776.

Much of the crowd moved to the foot of the stage, filming the performance as they tapped their feet or danced in place. – Read more at Army.mil

Morgan Myles on Why It Wasn’t Crazy To Pick Camila Cabello as Her Coach on ‘The Voice’ – “I believe 100 percent that there is a country lane for me,” Morgan continued. “It’s just finding the right people to really see that. I knew if I went on Blake’s team, it was going to be very, very country genre artist heavy. And I knew Camila would get me as a songwriter because she has cut songs that are actually country songs. So, I knew she’s going to go after emotion. She reminds me more of the Kelly Clarkson of the show this season. I have that personality, so I knew we could laugh together, and she has been an awesome choice. I’m so glad she is my coach.” – Read more at Parade

And I’m glad I picked him because time and time again he’s shown that he’s believed in me and picked me to be the winner.” – Read more at Parade

‘The Voice’s’ Parijita Bastola on Being the Show’s First Nepali-American Contestant: ‘It’s Super Cool’ – “Nepal’s not a country that most people know about, and there’s not much Nepalese representation on TV or in media,” Bastola told PEOPLE after Monday night’s live show. “So I think it’s super cool that I’m able to talk about my family and the clothes that I wear on the show. It’s allowing me to be myself, and in doing so, I’m able to teach a lot of Americans about my culture and what I’m about.” – Read more at People
