Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Ripa-Inspired Comedy Scores Pilot Order at ABC – ABC has added a second single camera pilot to its development slate. The network has issued a pilot order for “Work Wife,” a comedy inspired by the real-life partnerships of producers Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, and writers Casey Johnson and David Windsor. The prospective series tells the story of a platonic male-female team whose professional success, personal friendship and ability to share deodorant makes their lives work. Set in the world of real estate, Dani and Scott have taken the leap to start their own team. Now feeling the stress of being the boss, they have to rely on the yin-yang of their dynamic more than ever to keep their professional and personal lives afloat. Seacrest will executive produce via Ryan Seacrest Productions along with RSP’s Nina Wass and Andrea Shay. Fox Picks Up Musical Game Show ‘I Can See Your Voice,’ Ken Jeong to Host – Following on the success of “The Masked Singer,” Fox is doubling down with another South Korean game show import, the musical series “I Can See Your Voice.” Based on the South Korean format from CJ ENM, the show will offer contestants a cash prize if he or she can tell the difference between the good and bad singers, without ever hearing them sing a note. “The Masked Singer” judge Ken Jeong will serve as host and executive producer. Like “The Masked Singer,” “I Can See Your Voice” will feature a panel of “celebrity comedians/experts and a musical superstar” to help the contestant navigate “rounds of lip sync challenges, hilarious hidden clues and true-or-false evidence.” In the end, the singer whom the contestant picks will reveal if they are good or bad in a duet performance with the musical superstar, resulting in an amazing musical collaboration or a totally hilarious train wreck. – Read more at The Wrap

‘American Idol’ Winner Laine Hardy’s Debut Album Will Blend Genres – “After I got off the show, all of the sudden I was in Nashville in June and I wrote some songs until late July,” Hardy tells the Boot in an interview last fall, “And I just recently recorded some new songs with [famed producer] Michael Knox.” As for what fans can expect from the album, the Idol winner says he plans to create his own brand of music and fuse a handful of genres. “I’m more of a traditional kind of artist,” he explains. “I would probably blend all my classic and country influences into my music.” – Read more at Taste of Country
