Jennifer Hudson on Her Talk Show, EGOT Win and Facing Fears Head On: ‘You Will Always See Me Try’ – The American Idol alum  has been named one of People magazine’s People of the Year for 2022. What was the most important thing you learned from not winning American Idol? There’s a lesson in everything. Nothing is just, like, “Oh you just placed seventh.” That was a platform that allowed me to be seen and prepared me for what was to come. Everything leads to the next in some capacity. You may not get what you think you’re supposed to out of it, but it will help prepare you for what you will have eventually. – Read more at People

Jordin Sparks Details Sitting Next to Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski During Their NBA Date Night – Jordin Sparks, tell us how we’re supposed to breathe with no air—and all about Emily Ratajkowski and Pete Davidson’s NBA date. The singer—who sat next to the model and the Saturday Night Live alum at the Knicks versus Grizzlies game Nov. 27—revealed what she really witnessed between the two.  “I was trying not to be all up in their business,” she exclusively told E! News (airing tonight at 11:30 p.m.) at the 36th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards on Nov. 30. “But they sounded like they were having a great time. And we bonded over the fact that it gets kinda awkward when they have to put the camera in your face and show you to everybody….They were really nice, and I was really happy to sit next to them.” – Read more at ENews

‘The Voice’s Kim Cruse on Finding Her Confidence: ‘I Was Too Afraid to Tap Into It’ – “John is like a safe space to us. For me, I can’t wait to go into those rehearsals the next day and hear what John is gonna say about our performance from Monday,” she says. “I definitely feel like John has helped bring out the confidence in me that’s been there but I was just too afraid to tap into it.” She adds, “Before I came on this show I either sang sitting on a stand or I sang grabbing a microphone stand for dear life. So for me to be up here moving around this stage and just pouring my heart out and being vulnerable — John’s pushed that out of me.” – Read more at People

David Archuleta Teams With ‘Glee’ Alum Kevin McHale for ‘Risky Business’-Inspired ‘Faith in Me’ Video – “You don’t always get to see what’s going on behind the scenes, especially what’s initially filmed to what actually becomes the final product,” Archuleta tells Variety. “It was so fun to let loose on this song. Luke Bryan and his son gave Katy Perry a ‘Country education’ on doe pee

“I was FaceTiming my 14-year-old, and I was on set at ‘American Idol.’ So Katy’s listening to me talk to my 14-year-old, and he goes, ‘Dad, do we have any doe pee around here?’ which is doe urine. But, watching Katy Perry try to figure out what the hell me and my son were talking about. She was like, ‘did your son just ask you do you have any dope around the house?’ I said, ‘Katy, he’s asking for doe pee,’ and she goes, ‘like urine from an animal?’ I was like, ‘yes, what’s we use to bring the big bucks in.’ I feel sorry for her and Lionel and the country education that they have to get from me.”

Mark Burnett Exits MGM, Producer Vows Return to ‘Independently Creating and Innovating’ – Mark Burnett has formally resigned from his top leadership role at MGM, a move that comes 10 months after Amazon closed its $8.5 billion acquisition of the studio.  Burnett’s departure from the MGM fold is not a surprise. The producer, known for enduring unscripted hits including CBS’ “Survivor,” NBC’s “The Voice” and ABC’s “Shark Tank,” has not served as a conventional TV executive during his nine years with MGM and was not expected to stick around after the sale.  In a memo to MGM staffers, Burnett said he intended to pursue new ventures as a producer. He also emphasized that he worked hard to ensure that MGM TV’s roughly 150 staffers were offered positions after the Amazon sale. – Read more at Variety
