Headlines: RaeLynn, Taylor Hicks, Heather Morris

RaeLynn’s wild romance led to long-awaited debut album – “I guess I wasn’t focusing on Jesus that day,” says RaeLynn, 22, of the day she spotted her now husband Josh Davis at church. She was 18 years old, had just finished her run on Season 2 of the “The Voice” and recently moved to Nashville. Davis was talking to her friend, and RaeLynn marched herself over and joined the conversation. She didn’t get Davis’ telephone number that day, but two weeks later the pair found each other at a wedding. Their chemistry was instant, but the ride wasn’t smooth – a boon to the country singer’s debut album “Wildhorse” that is in stores Friday. – Read more at Tennessean.com

‘American Idol’ star Taylor Hicks at Liverpool’s Salt City Grille for food TV show – Taylor Hicks won’t say exactly what food he’s come to Syracuse to learn about for his television show, “State Plate.” But he did say he’s learning about the history of salt in the region, among other things. “It’s a large part of Upstate New York,” he said. Likewise, he wouldn’t say what’s he’s sampling when he heads to Utica’s Chesterfield Restaurant (known for Utica Greens and chicken riggies) for the same episode. Hicks did say, however, that he’s learning that New York — and its food history — stretches far beyond the five boroughs. – Read more at Syracuse.com

Laith Al-Saadi Discusses Life Before and After NBC’s The Voice (B.B. King’s NYC, 3/24/17) – We tried to hit the ground running as quickly as possible after The Voice. We had a great Summer and Fall, got to tour around the country and play a lot of great theaters, and managed to sell out almost all of the shows we did on the first run. We came through the City Winery in New York City, played at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY, and played at The Birchmere in DC as far as our East Coast dates go. Out west we played in Seattle, played in California, and were basically making the transition from working as a bar band to playing all theatre shows. The transition was also great because our shows are now mostly about my own music. Obviously I play some covers here and there because of what I did on The Voice, but I’m primarily featuring original music now, so we’re making that transition of focusing on me as an artist versus “that dude from The Voice.” – Read more at CEGPresents.com

ET caught up with the red-headed beauty over the phone on Thursday, where she cleared up rumors that the two are more than just a dancing duo competing for the mirror ball trophy. “We’re not together,” Burgess confirmed. “We obviously have great chemistry, we love working together and Bonner is an incredibly good-looking guy. ‘X-Factor uses people like puppets’ – Max Vickers on why he prefers The Voice – He starred in the ITV series in 2011 when Gary Barlow was in charge – but got dropped at Judges’ Houses in favour of wildboy Frankie Cocozza. Now as a member of Team Gavin Rossdale, he has taken a swipe saying: “On X Factor they used you and it didn’t feel right. The Voice is more respectable. “The whole process feels better. Here you get more creativity. You feel like you have more freedom to do what you want, song choices and everything.” And Max claims that on The Voice the coaches are far more hands-on than the X Factor judges ever were. He said: “I thought the whole coach thing was just going to be for TV on The Voice but Gavin has been so hands-on and more involved than I had hoped.” – Read more at Daily Star.UK
