‘Idol’ champ Frandiani in spotlight on tour; making new album – Nick thinks Big Machine is more invested in his future than RCA/19 might have been with some of the other recent “Idol” winners. “This guy [Borchetta] is not a guy who likes to lose. He’s a very, very competitive guy,” Fradiani says. “You know, he put himself out there this year. So he wants this to work just as much as I want this to work, and that’s so huge to have that.” Nick also accepts that he may be recording other people’s songs for his next record. “It’s going to come down to which songs are the best songs,” Nick said. “If I’m not making the cut on those, then that’s what it is. And right now, I need to start my career at a really high level, and then I’ll get more opportunity [to record originals]. But the one cool thing is they’re giving me that shot [to write] right now, so that’s all I could ask for.” – Read more at McCall

Kelly Clarkson: ‘I’ve never been this happy’ – “I’ve never been this happy or felt this loved in my life,” Kelly told the Detroit News. “I’m in a really, really great place.” Talking about re-arranging “Good Goes the Bye” from pop to country, Kelly said, I’m a huge fan of Natalie and Shane; I have a few of both of their songs recorded for a country album I’m working on right now. And the demo we got was obviously more geared for country. But my producer, Jason Halbert, and I were like, “Man, this feels like it could be this ’80s Eurythmics beat.” The great thing about people like Shane and Natalie is that they just write classic melodies and clever lyrics. So it really can float though any genre. – Read more at the Detroit News

Jordin Sparks ‘I Would Love To Go Back’ For The Final Season Of ‘American Idol’ – Jordin would love to return to Idol, but she hasn’t heard anything about a reunion of past winners. ” “I have no idea I haven’t spoken to them — I thought that would be a great idea, I’ve mentioned that before… I was like it would be cool if each week maybe they could bring back a winner or maybe each theme is a certain Idol that’s done really well — like have an Adam Lambert week, a Kelly Clarkson week — although it could be like Kelly Clarkson for the entire season haha — so I thought that would be really cool but I would love to be a part of it — American Idol is what got me my start, I was such a huge fan before I was even on the show & you know it really is an end of an era for sure.” – Read more at Hollywood Life
