CMT Reveals the Next Women of Country Class of 2021 – CMT reveals the 10 country artists to watch in its much-anticipated 2021 Next Women of Country campaign, which recognizes and supports country music’s most promising and powerful female artists. The 10 artists joining this year’s prestigious Next Women of Country roster are: Ashland Craft, Priscilla Block, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Hannah Dasher, MacKenzie Porter, Harper Grae, Tenille Arts, Sacha, and Chapel Hart. Morgan Wallen Dropped by WME After Racial Slur Video – Morgan Wallen has been dropped by WME, the agency has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. The removal of Wallen as a client on Thursday comes in the wake of the country singer facing consequences after a video circulated online showing Wallen using a racial slur. Per Billboard, Wallen’s Jan. 8 release Dangerous: The Double Album, released by Big Loud Records in partnership with Republic Records, spent its third week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marked the largest streaming week ever for a country album. Billboard also reports that in wake of the singer’s blossomed success on radio and streaming, his team was plotting an arena headlining North American tour for late 2021-22. Rob Mills to Lead New Disney Unscripted Unit – Disney is launching an in-house production unit for unscripted programming and has tapped ABC’s Rob Mills to lead it. Mills has been upped to executive vp unscripted and alternative entertainment, Walt Disney Television, expanding his role from ABC, where he oversees unscripted series and specials and late night programming.
