Headlines: Matt Rogers Voice of NFL Titans, Jennifer Hudson Film Finally Released

He lost on ‘American Idol’ (12 place, season 3), but 12 years later, Matt Rogers wins job as Titans PA announcer – Television host and one-time “American Idol” contestant Matt Rogers beat out 200 applicants to become the Tennessee Titans’ new stadium public address announcer, the team announced this morning. Rogers, 42, beat out several veteran pro sports PA announcers who were in the final six, a group that also included longtime Nashville country music broadcaster Storme Warren. A lineman on the 2001 Rose Bowl champion Washington Huskies, Rogers said he was the only “triple threat” finalist — player, fan and professional football broadcaster. These days, Rogers still is a television personality, hosting Discovery Channel’s “Gold Rush” and “Deadliest Catch: The Bait.” His first big TV gig came in 2009 on season three of “American Idol,” the season won by Fantasia. – Read more at Tennessean.com
