Headlines: Liam Payne Staying in One Direction Would Have Killed Him, Blake Shelton Tour

Blake Shelton Continues Tour with Lauren Alaina opener

The Voice coach Blake Shelton is heading back out on the road with American Idol alum and DWTS contestant Lauren Alaina.

The “Friends And Heroes Tour” will follow up Shelton’s release of a new album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country due on December 13. The project will feature 12-tracks with some older hits mixed in with brand-new songs including his just-released “Jesus Got A Tight Grip,” his current single, “Hell Right,” and his No. 1 hit “God’s Country.”

New Songwriter Show Tells the Story Behind Hits by Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Aerosmith and More – Called Songwriters Under the Covers, it’s the brainchild of its host, accomplished Nashville songwriter-singer Victoria Shaw, whose hits include the Garth Brooks classic “The River.” Each hour-long episode features Shaw, 57, and two hit songwriters, all of whom take turns singing and telling the stories behind their songs. Shaw has handpicked the songwriters from her long and eclectic list of songwriter friends, and though they may not be household names, their music is instantly recognizable. Songwriters Under the Covers premieres nationally Wednesday, Oct. 16, on streaming platforms and the All Arts website, as well as on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. It also will be broadcast in the New York area on the All Arts channel at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and in the Nashville area on NPT/PBS at 9 p.m. Thursday. – Read more at People

The singer noted that One Direction’s schedule had been a complete “mess,” with tours sold out before they had even written and recorded the albums. “There’s no stop button,” he recalled. “You’ve got no control over your life. That’s why I lost complete control of everything.” – Read more at Rollingstone
