The American Idol season 7 singer attended a golf event in Tampa this weekend.

Forever heartthrob Kris Allen is ‘Letting You In’ – The biggest change [is] I write lyrics first instead of music first. I am such a melody-driven guy so everything I have always done has always been trying to fit lyric to melody. I challenged myself on this record, and I think most of the [songs] happened this way—with the lyrics first and then I worked on the music. It is amazing how much, for the most part, writing the music to the lyrics is a lot easier than writing the lyrics to music, so I definitely think it will be something I keep doing. I want my lyrics to be very personal. – Read more at Columbia Chronicle

Carrie Underwood Details the Impact Military Families Have On Her Songwriting – “It’s been a wonderful partnership. We’ve managed to do a lot,” she told press before her 90-minute set that night. “Country music is all about real life, that’s why I love it so much. I get to tell my story but I also get to tell the stories of people that I meet along the way. Getting to meet those military families at shows and hear their stories… I’ve sung songs that have a military theme to them. You bring those stories from other people. You see their faces when you’re writing the songs.” – Read more at Sounds Like Nashville

Behind The Scenes – DWTS Most Memorable Year

Simone Biles Teases Emotional Dancing with the Stars Routine: ‘I Hope It Inspires People’ – I actually felt pretty comfortable and confident going into last week’s show and was excited going into my routine! It was a lot of fun getting to channel Elvis Presley, and I really thought Sasha and I came together in our dance. The feedback from the judges was pretty good, but it is still so nerve-wracking to hear their thoughts when they’re sitting right in front of me. But I’m working to feel good about that part of the experience too. – Read more at People

Sharna Burgess on ‘DWTS’ Partner Bonner Bolton: ‘He’s Broken on the Inside’ – Bonner looks physically fit and strong and you get distracted by that beautiful jawline, but he’s broken on the inside. He went through a spinal fusion and he has metal holding his body together. He lives every day with pain and it makes it very difficult for him to dance. With Noah Galloway, he was missing limbs so his injuries were very obvious. But Bonner’s injuries are internal, so people tend to overlook how difficult this is for him. This man was paralyzed 12 months ago, and he’s out there doing the cha-cha when it took him two months to learn how to hold a spoon again. – Read more at US Magazine
