Melanie Martinez: An Important New Voice – Melanie Martinez does not want to talk about a certain television show today — or ever, really. “OK, are we done?” she interjects impatiently, just as I’m starting to gush about how Season 3 of The Voice — on which Melanie made the top six semifinals when she was just 16 years old — was by far the best season in the singing show’s history, in large part because of Martinez’s gutsy, game-changing performances. “You’re talking an awful lot about The Voice…” – Read more at Yahoo.com

Get Carrie Underwood’s Easy Holiday Recipes: I Want My Guests to ‘Leave Feeling Full and Happy’ – What are your go-to dishes? I’ll take a lot of holiday favorites and make them vegetarian. I’ll use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth to make the stuffing. I like to make casseroles — sweet potato casserole is a favorite of mine. One of my favorite desserts is, I’ll get apples and cut them up into big chunks. I’ll put cinnamon and apple pie spices on them, pour a little maple syrup and then put them in the oven. Then I’ll put that over coconut ice cream, and it’s supereasy and people really like it. As far as breakfasts go, there’s always things like oatmeal bakes that you can pop in the oven, or overnight oats in the crock pot and have those things ready to serve. – Read more at People.com

For Chicago’s Sa’Rayah, ‘The Voice’ just part of a journey – Sa’Rayah was introduced on the Sept. 19 season premiere and eliminated Nov. 15. But she’ll be back to perform on Tuesday’s show. “The Voice” has been a wonderful ride for the deeply spiritual young woman, a high after some of life’s lows. Her mother long ago recovered from addiction. She’s in the middle of a divorce from the man she’d saved herself for in marriage, and she and 2-year-old daughter Nylah have moved back home with her parents in Country Club Hills. – Read more at Chicago Sun Times
