Interview: Catching up with Billy Gilman: ‘The Voice’ – Country star Billy Gilman chatted with me about his experience on the latest season of “The Voice,” where he is mentored by Adam Levine. “It has been a crazy ride,” GiIman said. “It has been a fantastic couple of months. All is well.” On his “When We Were Young” audition for The Voice, he said, “I was literally scared to death, since you never know how America is going to feel, so to get the reception I received so far is pretty amazing. I’m really grateful for everything.” Gilman had nothing but the kindest remarks for his coach and mentor Adam Levine. “Adam has been great. When he started to explain his thoughts about my situation when I was standing on that stage, it blew me away how fast he got it. I’m very honored that he understood that we might have a fight. He has been very supportive and he is a superstar,” Gilman said. On his future plans, he said, “We are riding this crazy opportunity to the fullest. Carrie Underwood’s Fans Make Her Feel ‘Proud and Happy’ – “I love hearing fans sing my stuff back to me. It means that they are truly, of course they’re truly fans because they’re standing there watching us play. They bought a ticket you know, hard earned money was spent. Gas and parking and all that stuff, so they work to get to the show, but, it’s like I remember growing up if I was going to go to a concert, I would buy everything that that artist did, and I was like ‘I will know every word to every song,’ and it just makes me…when I hear them sing back to me kind of remember what that’s like, and it makes me feel proud and happy that they’re into it and having fun with it. It’s always fun to see like singles and stuff that are new singles you kind of notice more and more the more people hear it on the radio the more people are singing along and it’s just cool to see a single like ‘Dirty Laundry’ kind of grow and more and more people start singing it back, so it’s really cool,” Underwood shares. – Read more at SoundslikeNashville.com

Former Idol Taylor Hicks Travels With Taste on ‘Slate Plate’ – Taylor Hicks, season five winner of “American Idol,” is a platinum selling artist and best-selling author as well as the man responsible for an entire “Soul Patrol” movement in pop culture. To that impressive resume you can add host of the INSP original series “State Plate” (which will premiere at 9 p.m. Oct. 21). “It’s a dream come true,” said Hicks, who is from Birmingham, Alabama. “I’ve always wanted to host my own show. I’m on horseback steering cattle. I’m in Maine lobstering. It’s almost like Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs meets Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” – Read more at Travelpulse
