Trent Harmon talks about album, life with new fame – As a budding celebrity, Harmon knows he doesn’t fit in cities like Los Angeles or New York. He might fit in physically with his personal style, but as soon as he opens his mouth, they know he’s from the South. “I don’t try to fit in,” Harmon said in an interview with the Daily Journal. “I’m just nice to them, and they understand, ‘He’s not from here. He talks slow, and he doesn’t know how to use crosswalks.’” Every morning, Harmon wakes up at 4:30 and makes a round of press interviews until he falls asleep. But he doesn’t get much sleep with an 11-song debut album on his mind. He thinks about comments he’s heard about his style: “Is he soul? Is he country? Sometimes he sounds like a white country guy, and sometimes he sounds like a black lady.” He plans on taking those comments and paving a new path in country music with his new album, described as a mixture of country and soul. – Read more at DJournal

So I Honored Prince by Singing ‘Kiss’ for the ‘Voice’ Coaches – I wasn’t going to attend the party at all, to be perfectly honest, because I was feeling as dejected as the coaches themselves. But at the last minute, I donned a Prince Coachella 2008 T-shirt and a pair of glitter purple shoes, headed to Hyde… and belted an off-key, no-chair-turn-worthy, but emotionally connected rendition of Prince’s “Kiss” in front of Blake, Adam, Pharrell, and Xtina. – Read more at Yahoo Music

Kellie Pickler Reveals Secrets Of The American Idol Final — The Parties, Reunions & More – “It’s bittersweet,” explained Kellie while chatting with the HollywoodLife.com podcast. “But it was a great night. It was like an Idol family reunion because they brought all of the Idol contestants from 15 seasons.” Kellie explains that it may have seemed organized, but it was kind of a mess behind the scenes. “It was a circus backstage, there were a lot of us running around like crazy, but we had the best time. It was so much fun, a big celebration of the show and crowning the new Idol winner. It was nice.” It seemed weird that it was a “circus” backstage, until Kellie told us that they didn’t even really rehearse! “We started rehearsing the week before. So we had about a week, but having said that, we weren’t all there the week during rehearsals because everyone has their own gigs and shows. All of us, probably 60 Idols, we never really rehearsed together.” Yikes! – Read more at Hollywood Life

He explained, “She and I both, I think when it comes to writing, we play our cards close to our vest and we don’t share that with a lot of people and I think for me, personally, I’m a little insecure about my writing. The fact that we wrote these things together, I think it one of the most important pieces of music I’ve ever been a part of and I love the song.” – Read more at Extra.com
