Emmylou Harris, who was also alongside Paisley, chimed in: “We built our careers on cheating songs. Just the songs.” The trio and several other top performers, including Vince Gill and Paul Simon, came together on Monday night to perform at a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.Underwood said she was just glad to be a part of the festivities. “I’m honored to get to do what I love, get to be on stage and make music. All I ever wanted to do was sing, so I’m blessed in a ridiculous amount of ways, and I’m still honored that my name pops up here and there on award shows and things like that,” she said. “I’m honored to get to host the CMAs with Brad. OK. Like I said, just blessed.” – Read more at CBS Local
Carrie Underwood Says “No” to Mommy Music – Yes, motherhood has had a wonderful and profound impact on her life and career, but this new project Storyteller ain’t full of “mom songs,” y’all. “I kinda think people in some ways expected me to write a whole album of mommy music, and I hope they’re not disappointed that that didn’t happen,” Underwood told CMT.com in a recent chat. “I mean he gets his moment, and if that’s kind of where we’re headed — obviously you use your own personal experiences to insert into your writing,” she said. “He gets his moment on the album, and that’s kind of it, you know what I mean? I didn’t write thirteen tracks of mom songs.” – Read more at CMT

Clay Aiken drops Clinton for Biden, praises Trump – Former “American Idol” star Clay Aiken once was ready for Hillary, but now the one-time Democratic congressional candidate has passionately endorsed Vice President Joe Biden. “To some extent, I kind of feel like Secretary Clinton is a leaky boat at this point and that concerns me as a Democrat,” Aiken said. “If you look at the person who has said more things that would be considered gaffes than anybody else — Donald Trump — seriously, and he’s at the top of the pack,” Aiken said. “I don’t think gaffes are a liability. I don’t think they should be called gaffes.” – Read more at CNN

One Direction Still “Shocked” at Their Success on the Road – The fact that 1D, currently readying their fifth album for release next month, can continue to draw such huge crowds on the road is something that even the band themselves finds hard to comprehend. “We still can’t believe…and I say it on stage every night, but not a lot of artists get to play stadiums. So we’re still shocked that a year and a half later we’re still playing stadiums,” Niall Horan tells ABC Radio. “We are just shocked that every show that we go to, the standard is so high of how great the crowds are and that’s been the same on this tour,” adds Louis. “It’s been great.” – Read more at ABC News
Dancing’s Derek Hough: The Response to Bindi’s Dance Is “Beautiful and Lovely” – I have Alexa for the switch-up and she’s awesome. She has an amazing capacity for movement. She can truly be a great dancer. My goal with her is polishing everything. I want refinement and to make her look clean and strong. We have a pretty cool concept in mind too for our tango. It’s only her second ballroom dance after her first this week, but I don’t feel like she’s behind or anything. She’s doing great and learns quickly. I also teach differently on the show than I would in a regular class, like how to do the proper technique for the tango frame. I think we all do on some level because of the constraints of the show. For me, it works better in this setting even if it’s not the proper way to teach it. You always have to adapt on the show. – Read more at TV Guide
