Her initial goal was $200, but she has since raised more than $27,000 in 10 months, her mother Lori calling her efforts “the ultimate act of kindness.” Carrie agrees, and surprised the mother-daughter duo via Zoom while appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show this week. -Read more at Willmarradio.com

‘The Voice’ Winner Jake Hoot Shares Story Behind Kelly Clarkson Duet [EXCLUSIVE] – “When we wrote it, I said, ‘I think this would be awesome if we got Kelly to sing on this,’” Hoot told Everything Nash of the song, which he penned with Lonestar’s Dean Sams and Jamie Floyd. “When I was on The Voice, she said, ‘Hey, let’s do something together.’ So I sent it to her, and didn’t hear anything. And then later on in the year, when we were seriously considering putting this on the album, I said, ‘You know what? I’m just going to text her again,’ because I had to ask her a couple of questions about other things.” When Hoot finally did get in touch with Clarkson, he realized she had never heard the song when he initially sent it. But once he sent it again, she instantly agreed to join him on the track. Amazingly, in spite of both of their busy lives, including his wedding in a couple of months, “I Would’ve Loved You” was quickly recorded. “She called me back immediately and she said, ‘I want to shout this from the rooftops. Yes, I’m in,” Hoot recalled. – Read more at Everything Nash

He also gives a cautionary tale of his college years and how he didn’t always make the most of that education. “My internal mantra was ‘What can school do for me?’ as opposed to what can I do for own self in school.” While in college, though, he auditioned for his first Broadway show and finally landed a role in the ensemble after years of back-and-forth callbacks. However, he ended up turning down that Broadway debut to instead take part in a little known show at the time, American Idol. – More at Broadway World.com

I can’t let people down,” he told Luke Bryan on his Apple Music Country show, “Party Barn Radio.” “I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house, so they look like when you’re taking a selfie from up above ‘cause I can’t even stand and look at myself in the mirror, so I’ve rearranged them or they’re kind of angled down, looking down at me, so I’m looking up and it’s not so bad,” he said. Bryan followed up with some questions about the impending nuptials, which Shelton had to rate on a scale of one to 10, including whether Stefani will actually walk down the aisle. – Read more at Today
