Headlines: American Idol Phillip Phillips Legal Case Grinds On

Tonight, The Voice airs a clip show, “Best of the Blinds” at 8 pm on NBC. That means…no live blog! However, Franky will be blogging the Dancing with the Stars Results show on ABC at 8 pm. Double elimination. Then, at 9 pm, it’s the Vice Presidential debate: Pence Vs Kaine. I’m not expecting much controversy, but Shnugs will be live blogging never the less. Americana Duo Granville Automatic to Stop at Rockwood Music Hall This Fall – Led by a modern-day Linda Ronstadt, Granville Automatic writes songs the Associated Press calls “haunting tales of sorrow and perseverance.” Horses, history and war are just some of the topics songwriters Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins prefer – all fitting subjects for a band named after a 19th-century typewriter. With sonic references such as Lyle Lovett, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson, Granville Automatic has created a quiet and lyrical sound devoted to telling stories from the past. DWTS: Maureen McCormick explains why she cries so much – “I’m emotional about everything. I feel a lot, and I love it,” McCormick admitted to EW after Monday’s show. “To come into this competition and feel like I was the worst dancer in the world. I had this other head above me when I danced with friends. I would have to stop. I thought I looked ugly. I look uncoordinated. I didn’t know what I’m doing. It was a huge thing for me. I’ve not been able to dance in public and enjoy it. So it was one of my biggest fears. Yeah I’m a woman. I’m insecure. I don’t mind those things. They make me human. It’s who I am.” – Read more at Entertainment Weekly
