Maddie Poppe Praises Eliminated Contestants Catie Turner and Jurnee

Maddie Poppe has kind words for eliminated American Idol contestant Catie Turner

And Jurnee too.

Jurnee is the next Rihanna, I’m telling you. Also this girl will make you laugh like no other and is seriously such a light in any room she enters. A lot of times when I felt like no one was listening, she was always there to console me through my problems. This girl is so wise and mature beyond her years and there is so much success in store for her future. It’s crazy to think she’s only eighteen, because she’s accomplished so much so young, she’s got so much ahead of her. I very much enjoyed rooming with this lady and can’t wait to spend all summer with her on tour!! Jurnee is unlike anybody I’ve ever met, and I’m so happy we’ve gotten so close throughout this process. Love her so so much and can’t wait to see her career unfold and reach great heights. ??

Trent Harmon Guilty Pleasures and More!

The American Idol reigning champ answers a few important questions…

Halo Circus wrangles an urgent new sound that takes aim at social media and state of the world – Halo Circus insists that its music is “absolutely” not political. “Human, but not political,” says Matthew Hager, a Houston native and one-half of the electro-pop duo that also features “American Idol” alum Allison Iraheta. He’s talking about the band’s bracing new EP, “Robots and Wranglers.” “I think we made an album that kind of held a mirror to where everything’s at. I don’t think we spent a lot of time judging. We just put sounds and lyrics to what we were experiencing.” – Read more at Chron.com

Josh Gracin’s New Single ‘Nothin’ Like Us’ Reflects His Newfound Happiness – Josh Gracin is back at country radio and back in the game with a new single and a new outlook. Gracin recently released “Nothin’ Like Us,” and he tells Taste of Country that “things are going really well” as he travels the country to promote the song at country radio. The former American Idol Season 2 finalist had “written about 20 or so things” before he went into the studio to cut, he says. He asked his producer “right at the last minute” if there were any other songs they should consider. His producer played four songs for him, “and I instantly knew that I had some more work to do from the writing side,” Gracin confesses. – Read more at TasteofCountry

Nick Jonas wouldn’t have auditioned for “American Idol” himself: “I don’t think I could have handled the pressure” – This past weekend, Nick Jonas helped mentor the contestants on American Idol. But given the opportunity, Nick says there’s no way he would have actually tried out for the show himself. “I don’t think I could have handled the pressure of auditioning for American Idol,” Nick tells ABC News. “Being thrust into this world like that would be too much for me. I kind of eased into it over the course of many, many years. So I’m not envious of the overnight stardom they’ve all experienced and having to adjust to that life…[it] wasn’t the ride I would’ve taken.” – Read more at WJBDRadio

Adam Levine Says ‘Girls Are Better Than Boys,’ Reveals How ‘The Voice’ Prepared Him for Fatherhood (Exclusive) – The doting dad, who has two daughters with his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, talked to ET’s Sophie Schillaci at Monday’s top 10 live episode of The Voice, where he opened up about his preference for daughters and how The Voice prepared him for becoming a father. “I wasn’t a parent before I did [The Voice,]” he said, when asked if working closely with the NBC show’s contestants had awakened his paternal instincts. “I didn’t have a wife. I was just a loose cannon, living in L.A., being crazy. I think The Voice was one of the first times that I had a platform where I could help people out or play a role [as] a mentor. So, it did help me, indirectly, in what inevitably became being a parent, for sure.” – Read more at Entertainment Tonight

Tom Bergeron Says The Accelerated ‘DWTS: Athletes’ Season Is ‘Like A Bloodbath’

Adam Rippon Explains He’s Conflicted Over Tonya Harding’s ‘DWTS’ Comeback (Exclusive) – “I think it’s great that [Tonya]’s getting to have a moment,” he said of the former skater. “I can’t imagine what it’s like to be her and have everybody just not want anything to do with you, so I think that it’s really nice that she gets to have a moment.” “But I think it’s also important that we remember that she was banned from skating for a reason,” Rippon continued, referencing the 1994 attack on Kerrigan. “It wasn’t taken away from her, she was part of something that was not good and should never happen again. At the same time… it’s really nice to see somebody being able to have a moment and enjoy it, and you can see that she’s really alive out there.” – Read more at Entertainment Tonight
