Keith Urban performs on Denver street corner in Writer’s Square area – DENVER – Singer Keith Urban was in downtown Denver for American Idol auditions when he was photographed busking on a street corner Sunday morning. On his Facebook page, Urban posted a photo of himself strumming his guitar in the Writer’s Square area with the caption, “Makin some scratch in Denver today!!!” It’s not clear from the photograph if the stunt was part of an American Idol video clip or if Urban just performed for fun. – Read more at The Denver Channel

Carrie Underwood plays house concert for MusiCares – Carrie Underwood donated her time Saturday night to perform at what became the most successful house concert in MusiCares history. The fundraiser was held at the Arndt estate, the Brentwood vacation home of Beverly Hills jeweler Johnathon Arndt and his partner Newman Arndt, and raised more than $146,000 for the Recording Academy’s charity that provides financial support to members of the music community in need. – Read more at The Tennessean
‘Dreamgirl’ Jennifer Hudson in push for charter schools – Grammy and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will give a musical performance at a massive pro-charter school rally on Wednesday, the Daily News has learned. Hudson, who last performed Friday at Madison Square Garden for Pope Francis’ Mass, will sing no fewer than four songs for the upcoming rally organized by education reform group Families for Excellent Schools. The “American Idol” finalist and “Dreamgirls” actress said she’s participating in the event because she believes children from all backgrounds deserve an equal education. – Read more at NYDailyNews
Crystal Bowersox, “American Idol” runner-up, to play Laramie’s Gryphon Theatre – Even though she said she competed on “American Idol” for two reasons – necessity and desperation – she said she has since become more honest with herself as a person and an artist. She said the reality competition was one of the hardest things she has ever done. “My definition of success is doing what you love for a living and you’re paying the bills,” she said. “I don’t need a bunch of junk in my life.
