Queen and Adam Lambert will rock you down under early next year – The iconic UK band have turned into a regular touring act with their new guest singer, who was discovered on American Idol. Queen and Lambert toured Australia in 2014 to rave reviews and continue to play shows around the world, in-between Lambert’s solo career. ‘Voice’ winner Javier Colon to star in “Big River” in Fairfield – The new nonprofit professional Unquowa Repertory Theatre enters Fairfield County’s rich cultural scene with a big splash — Javier Colon in “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” The company’s inaugural production stars the former Stratfordite, who was the winner of NBC’s first season of “The Voice” in 2011, as the runaway slave, Jim, in pre-Civil War Missouri. David Day: Dastmalchian, Cook and Wain coming to Big Slick – Cook, 34, is a platinum-selling rock artist raised in Blue Springs who shot to stardom after winning the seventh season of “American Idol.” He’s the only one of this batch of three celebs to have appeared at Big Slick before. Cook was a crowd favorite at last year’s celebrity softball game, wearing a “Star Wars” Chewbacca mask in left field, hitting a home run and taking time to toss some cold water bottles to fans in the stands. This year’s celebrity softball game starts at 5 p.m. June 23 at Kauffman Stadium. Horror relived: Ex-‘Voice’ contestant tossed fellow passengers off a burning plane – Country singer Barrett Baber recounts harrowing 1999 plane crash in Little Rock, Ark., that killed a member of his college choir. “I just survived a plane crash,” he thought, “and now I’m gonna burn up.” The flight attendant kept jerking on the emergency exit door near Baber, but it wouldn’t open. Meanwhile, a wall of thick black smoke was heading, row by row, toward the back of the plane. Baber flung aside the flight attendant and tried to open the door himself. “I grabbed that bar and I’m giving it hell, and nothing’s happening. All the while, the black smoke is coming at us.
