Headlines: Adam Lambert Headed to Sunfest, Billboard Awards Sets Date

NBC Sets a Date for the 2022 Billboard Awards – NBC and MRC Live & Alternative announced today that the 2022 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) will air live on Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m.PT on NBC. (It’s probably the same night as the American Idol finale, which has been the case in the past few years). The show will return to Las Vegas, broadcasting from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Host and performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Upcoming performers for the ACM Awards – Prime Video, the Academy of Country Music, and MRC today announced the first group of country music superstars set to perform live at the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards on Prime Video, Monday, March 7 at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST/5 p.m. PST. Kelsea Ballerini, Walker Hayes, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Parmalee and Blanco Brown featuring Brooke Eden, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde, and Breakthrough Artist for Amazon Music, BRELAND, will hit the stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Queens of the Universe renewed for Season 2 on Paramount+ – The new competition that featured singing drag queens is coming back for another season: “RuPaul has two more big openings planned for the near future, as Paramount+ will expand the drag superstar’s queer empire with RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 and Queen of the Universe season 2 renewals. The streaming service unveiled the new seasons of both series Tuesday at the ViacomCBS Investors Event, confirming that the “best of the best” queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race will battle it out for $100,000 on the AS7 premiere, while a new roster of global singers will vie for the Queen of the Universe title across a multi-week singing competition.” American Idol 2018 Top 10 finalist Ada Vox finished in second place on the inaugural season. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

American Idol 4 alum Constantine Maroulis & George Wendt to Lead ROCK AND ROLL MAN: THE ALAN FREED STORY Industry Presentation – Constantine Maroulis and George Wendt are set to star in an Industry Presentation of Rock and Roll Man: The Alan Freed Story on Thursday, March 3 and Friday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. The musical features music and lyrics by Gary Kupper, a book by Gary Kupper, Larry Marshak and Rose Cariola, choreography by Warren Adams, and direction by Randal Myler and Warren Adams. The Voice 19 Finalist John Holiday Signs with Downtown Music Services – John Holiday represented Team John Legend in the The Voice season 18 finals. And now, the classically trained singer has signed a deal. He writes on Instagram: “God is good.
