We have the final HDD chart already. One never knows what those guys are up to. They certainly keep us on our toes.
We are getting a lot of first timers topping the chart lately and this week is no different. Meek Mill tops the BB200 and Album sales chart for the first time with an extremely convincing 216K in sales. His last album opened at number 2 in 2012. His sales are up from that album which were 160K. That’s the kind of movement labels like to see. It’s a one-two finish for Urban artists this week with Miguel opening at a distant 2nd (selling less than 1 fifth of the number one album).
James Taylor is showing a lot of leg for an older gentleman. He opened at number one three weeks ago he’s 3rd in sales this week. Breaking Benjamin opened at number one last week and is 4th this week. Taylor Swift owns land in the top 10 and his building a condo development at number 5 this week. She’ll move up to second based on TEAs/SEAs – you can bet your house on that. X Ambassadors (Alt Rock) opens at 6th, August Burns Red (Metalcore – and its July burning orange this year) is opening at 7th, the Magic Mike XXL Soundtrack (Urban leaning) is opening at 8th, Easton Corbin (Country) opening at 9th and Kace Musgraves closing out the top 10.
Tori Kelly debuted at 2nd last week and slides to 13th this week. Now 54 features Tori Kelly, Kelly Clarkson and One Direction and sits at 16th. Pentatonix appears on the Pitch Perfect 2 Sountrack at 43rd.
