With 69.21% of reports in, Kid Rock is leading the charge by a mere 640 albums over Big Sean. It’s rockers vs rappers. Michigan vs Michigan. They are predicted to end the week with the same amount in sales, but expect Big Sean to top the BB200 due to TEAs & SEAs (rap fans will by some downloads, while rock fans remain married to the album concept). This will be Big Sean’s first number one album and Kid’s 8th album in the top 10. Fifty Shades of Grey continues to lurk in the top 3 while others that have topped the chart since its release have fallen down the charts. The soundtrack has some hits on it. Drake will do better on the downloads and will switch places with 50 on the final chart.
Look, at number 5, is Mr. Chris Brown. I can only imagine the career he could have had. Taylor Swift is number 6, last week’s number one is number 7 (Imagine Dragons) and our two British lads remain cheek to jowl (Ed currently at 8th and Sam Smith at 9th. Red, a rock band out of Nashville, completes the top 10 and makes it 4 debuts currently in the top 10.
Reality song competitors are represented by Carrie Underwood (Idol) at 34, One Direction (X-Factor UK) at 44 and Alex & Sierra (X-Factor) on the Now 53 album at 11th. Adam (16) and Blake (48) represent the Judges and The Voice.
