With yesterday being Labour Day, we did not get first day estimates from HDD. So, all the updates will occur today.
So, we’ll just post their weak-end estimates. Avenged Sevenfold, a metal band out of California, is expected to have the top debut and number one album this week. This will be their second number one album. Last week’s number one (after two weeks at the top of the chart), Luke Bryan moves down to 2nd. Rapper Big Sean is third. Robin Thicke wasn’t hurt by the Miley “controversy” and increases sales to find himself 4th this week. Rapper Juicy J rounds out the top 5. Justin Timberlake, John Mayer, Alabama & Friends (current artists covering Alabama hits (Alabama has no friends amongst the Idols) plus a few new songs from the band itself), TGT, Now 47 (no reality singing show contestants) and Jimmy Buffett/Imagine Dragons are expected to be in the top 10.
Mandisa released a new album last week as well. Her previous album opened with 8K in sales, but just kept selling to finish around 194K in sales. Christian albums are tough to track for Nielsen because many of the albums are sold at bookstores that do not report to Soundscan.
