With 70.38% of reports in, Jay-Z is dominating the chart. Dominating. He has over 10x the sales of the next highest album. He is expected to finish the week with an impressive 495-520K in sales. And, unlike Kayne a few weeks ago, Jay-Z’s predicted numbers have been creeping up all week (Kayne’s slid down) which indicates that he should hold to those predictions. So Kayne releases “Yeezus” and his tour-mate releases the “Holy Grail”…is there a story I’m missing here?
Anyway, Ciara is debuting way, way, way back in second. Way back. So far back, I think Jay-Z lapped her a few times and took a nap. Still, it is a pretty crappy week for women in the top 10, so it’s nice she’s representing in second. Florida Georgia Line has some serious legs at 3rd this week and Imagine Dragons aren’t doing too bad either. Wale is 5th, Skylar Grey is debuting in 6th, Kayne is sitting down in 7th, Bruno Mars is 8th, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are 9th and the cool duo from France (Daft Punk) are 10th. Interestingly, last week J. Cole moved up to the number one spot and has now plummeted to 17th. I guess he emptied his gas-tank last week.
Idols? Just one. Phil Phillips, winner of Season 11, has his “World from the Side of the Moon” at 45th. Olly Murs and One Direction from the UK X-Factor are on Now 46 now at 15th.
