HDD – Album Sales Prediction : July 15-21

With 54.02% of reports in, Jay Z is set to top the chart for his second week. Even with a 76% drop, if you start that high, you have a lot of room to fall. BB tells me that he will be the first rapper to top the chart for two consecutive weeks with the same album in the past two years. The last one was Lil Wayne with “The Carter IV”.

The top debut this week is currently “Kids Bop 24” from the Kidz Bop Crew. This one doesn’t feature any songs from Idols, but they tackle “Thrift Shop”, “Suit and Tie” and “Just Give Me a Reason”. They are expected to be upended for top debut slot by Sara Bareilles who is currently sitting in fourth.

Florida Georgia Line has taken a permanent seat in the top 5 and is currently perched at 3rd. Voice Judge Blake Shelton is 5th, Florida rapper Ace Hood is 6th, former Hootie Darius Rucker is 7th, J. Cole is 8th, Bruno Mars is 9th and Carrie’s opener Hunter Hayes is 10th.

The only reality singing contestant in the top 50 is Phil Phillips with his “World from the Side of the Moon” at 45th. Now 46 features songs from X-Factor’s One Direction and Olly Murs. It currently sits at 11th.
