According to Deadline, Harry Connick Jr. is on the shortlist of candidates for the 3rd seat on the American Idol 13 judges panel, now that deals with Dr. Luke and Scooter Braun have fallen through.
Harry has mentored twice, in Season 9 and Season 12, and during both stints he proved himself to be honest, astute and hilarious. A fan favorite, the crooner would definitely be a popular choice.
In fact, former Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe recently said that if it had been up to him, he would have had a panel comprised of Harry, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban LAST season.
Wouldn’t it be funny if FOX wound up with the American Idol panel their fired executive envisioned in the first place?
