She grew up listening to her mother, also a singer, “bring the house down…with her powerful vocals, and my dad shredding guitar right next to her…” Haley further explains that her parents and their band “Midnight” “have always picked the most quintessential yet eclectic songs to perform that define classic rock.” She added, “Piece of My Heart takes me right back home with them in Chicago.” And fittingly, her parents appear on the cover.
“I also chose to perform it live on American Idol when I was on the show,” said Haley, “which allowed me to showcase my rock n roll roots.”
These days, Haley performs the song live with her own band on tour. She also performs with “rock legends” such as Robby Krieger from The Doors. “I can’t escape this song no matter where I go!”
