Is Blake Shelton spreading some bad divorce ju ju?
On Monday, Narvel Blackstock and Reba McEntire announced they were splitting up after 26 years of marriage. Narvel is the father of Blake’s manager (and Kelly Clarkson husband) Brandon Blackstock. Hours later, news broke that his fellow The Voice coach, Gwen Stefani, had split from her husband, Gavin Rossdale. This, after Blake and Miranda Lambert announced last week their 4 year marriage was over.
According to TMZ, Gwen was the one who filed for divorce from Gavin, citing irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition, which seeks to end their 13-year-marriage.
Gwen is asking for joint custody of the couple’s 3 kids–9-year-old Kingston, 6-year-old Zuma and 1-year-old Apollo. Gavin filed his response at the same time, and also seeks joint custody.
TMZ sources say there is no prenup, so the 50/50 California community property laws come into play. Gwen is worth a reported $80 million, while Gavin is worth an estimated $35 million. Gwen checked the box on the form to deny Gavin spousal support.
Gwen and Gavin released a joint statement, which reads, “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”
With The Voice 9 currently taping episodes, Gwen and Blake probably have a lot to talk about, sitting there in their big red chairs during breaks from filming.
