ETA:  FOX has released an official summary for “Frenemies:

With only five weeks until graduation, Artie and Tina learn they are in a statistical tie for class Valedictorian and are forced to participate in a tie-breaker of Principal Sue’s design. What begins as “friendly” competition quickly devolves into a no-holds-barred contest, testing their much touted post-romantic-relationship friendship. Meanwhile, in New York, while Rachel’s head continues to swell as she experiences some of the perks of being cast in a Broadway show, Santana is depressed due to her lack of meaningful acting work… and is tired of being recognized as “the girl with the raging yeast infection.” When Santana takes a leap out of her comfort zone to audition as Rachel’s Funny Girl understudy, Rachel views it as a betrayal that reopens old wounds, and revives a long-standing and apparently unresolved feud between the two.

Worried that Elliott is trying to wrest the spotlight (and control of their band, Pamela Lansbury) from him, Kurt heeds Blaine’s advice to learn all he can about his rival by “keeping his enemies closer.” When the two spend an afternoon together (with Kurt not-so-subtly pumping his rival for information), what starts out as a mission to uncover Elliott’s nefarious plans, turns into the discovery that Kurt actually gets along with “Starchild”… a revelation that gives Blaine pause.

ETA: I need scoop on the Glee “Frenemies” episode (airing Tuesday, Feb. 25). Please tell me Rachel and Santana come out as better friends by the end of it. —Miwako – I would if I could… but I can’t. Not only does their little Funny Girl imbroglio turn violent, but it will significantly alter their current living situation – Via TV Line

Rachel SLAPS Santana:

ETA: In an interview with MTV. Lea Michele says to look out for “a big Santana and Rachel shocker” Likely pertaining to Rachel losing the lead in Funny Girl and Santana subsequently auditioning.

The plot appears to revolve around cast members facing off against each other, in one way or another.

For instance, Santana is singing Rachel’s go-to song “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”  The two will join forces to perform “Brave” by Sara Bareilles and the classic Police tune, “Every Breath You Take.” This clue from E Online might explain what’s going on:

We’re going to meet a character in episode nine that is auditioning (very badly) for a Broadway show. Now why are we peeking in on Broadway auditions? Many possibilities, the worst of which is that Rachel somehow loses her part in Funny Girl and must try again elsewhere. Or someone else in the group takes a stab at making it to the big stage. Or it’s just a random appearance, but c’mon…this is Glee. Something is going on.

Santana auditions for Fanny Brice? Rachel can’t be happy about that. Funny Girl Broadway theater scenes are shot at the Million Dollar Theater in downtown LA. Here’s a shot of Lea on set. And Naya on set.

Rachel will transform into Barbra aka Fanny Brice right before our very eyes. Here’s a sneak peek from Lea Michele in costume from her twitter:

Adam Lambert returns as Elliott/Starchild and will be singing a fabulous duet of The Darkness “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” with Kurt.  And if that isn’t awesome enough, there’s some DANCING involved. The BEST KIND according to a tweet from Chris Colfer.

HA HA CLASSY SCRIPPAS. This is going to be EPIC.

Also, Glee is building an apartment set for Adam’s character, Elliott/Starchild, according to a crew member who posted a photo of the building on facebook. Check it out HERE.

Remember when Tina and Artie dated back in season 1? Well, they are finally joining forces for a duet– TWO duets in fact, and one of the songs is Glee’s 600th number.  “My Lovin'” By En Vogue , and the other is “Whenever I Call You Friend.”  Jenna Ushkowitz instagrammed this cool photo from one of her performances. Aww. 600.

Glee dips into the Kelly Clarkson song book once more (They LOVE her). Artie, Tina & Blaine will sing “Breakaway.”
