Glee Season 5: Chord Overstreet Says Seniors Won’t Graduate Until Episode 14 (VIDEO)

Chord Overstreet, who plays the sweet but dim McKinley High student, Sam Evans on Glee, spilled some bad news on the Catching Fire premiere red carpet earlier this week.

Unfortunately, those of us who are waiting for Sam and Blaine to graduate and move to the big city, will have a longer wait than anticipated. Chord revealed to Clevver that Sam and Blaine and the rest of the McKinley High seniors WILL NOT BE GRADUATING UNTIL EPISODE 14. Making matter worse–after the Dec 5 Christmas episode (Episode 8!), Glee will go on a long hiatus that won’t end until at least March.

It’s the longest frigging school year ever. It began in the fall of 2012 and won’t wind up until spring of 2014. After that, only 8 episodes will remain for season 5. When McKinley finally loses their current seniors, only the newbies will be left. And nobody cares about them.

Hopefully, the rumor about producers ditching Lima altogether is true and the remaining 8 episodes will be all New York City all the time, featuring Rachel (Lea Michele), Santana (Naya Rivera), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and special guest stars Adam Lambert and Demi Lovato. Joining them from Lima should be: Artie (Kevin McHale) Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Blaine (Darren Criss). Oh, Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) can come too if the writers make her less annoying.

This week, on the “Movin’ On” episode airing Thursday on FOX, not only will Chord be crooning songs by the iconic singer-songwriter, Billy Joel, but he’ll be taking his shirt off for Tyra Banks when his character, Sam roadtrips to New York City and dips his toe into the world of fashion modeling.

Chord spoke to Clevver News about working with Darren, “We have a lot of fun stuff coming up this year, and I love shooting scenes with Darren,” Chord enthuses about his set BFF. “He’s just a freakin’ fun, nice guy. We hit it off really well since we started working together. We just have fun and we get to goof around a lot. It’s a blast.”
