Will is freaking out when he learns that one of New Directions’ competitors at Regionals has a tiny but powerful voice that could give New Directions a run for their money!
Meanwhile, McKinley experiences mass power outage leaving the club no way to rehearse with the band. Will turns a negative intoa positive, going “unplugged,” hoping the kids learn something new about their talents. There are 4 acoustic songs in the episode, including “We Will Rock You” (performed with makeshift percussion), a lovely “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” duet between Sam and Ryder, “Everybody Hurts” and and an a cappella “Longest Time.”
Sue, who has a new career as a tough-as-nails aerobics instructor since she was exiled from McKinley, sings “Little Girls” from the Broadway musical, Annie. It’s probably not a coincidence that as soon as the season wraps up, Jane Lynch will be heading to New York City to play Miss Hanigan.
The Broadway numbers don’t stop! In New York City, Kurt and Rachel convince Santana to perform at at benefit as a favor to Isabelle (Sarah Jessica Parker) at Vogue.com. The quartet performs “At the Ballet” from A Chorus Line.
