Glee Star, Amber Riley and her pro partner, Derek Hough made an impressive debut on the premiere episode of Dancing with The Stars Monday night (Check out Franky’s recap). Their Cha-Cha earned the best scores of the night–3 nines from the judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, for a total of 27 out of 30–a VERY high score for the first week of competition. In fact, Amber tied the record for best opening week DWTS score with Kristi Yamaguchi who went on to take the trophy with Mark Ballas in Season 6.
Hard work and practice helped the duo kill it on the dance floor. Amber is used to working hard on the Glee set, practicing those dance routines to perfection. But it probably didn’t hurt that a crew of her Glee castmates–Chris Colfer, Ashley Fink, Dianna Agron, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz were in the audience to cheer her on!
