Glee Cory Monteith Tribute Ratings Rise 75% – Highest Since September 2012 (UPDATED)

As expected, last night’s Cory Monteith tribute resulted in a significant ratings increase for Glee:

From TVByTheNumbers:

Last night’s Glee drew a 2.8/8 rating, up +75% from last week in A18-49 (vs 1.6/5) and up +68% in Total Viewers (7.4 Mil vs. 4.4 Mil)

  •  This is Glee’s highest rating in over one year among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers (since 9/20/12) and Adults 18-34 (since 9/13/12)
  • In fact, it was its highest rating in over a year and a half in Women 18-34 (since 2/21/12).
  • In Adults 18-34 Glee surged +81% from last week (2.9/9 vs 1.6/5). And Teens jumped +50% to a 2.4/9 (vs 1.6/7)
  • In head-to-head competition, Glee tied Grey’s Anatomy

I suspect the bump is temporary, due only to the Monteith tribute. The numbers may dip lower than ever in the coming weeks, as the show struggles to find it’s footing without one of its central, and most beloved characters.

Stay tuned for a full ratings report, including numbers for X Factor.
