Gabby Barrett is recording her sophomore album. The American Idol season 16 alum recently posted a video clip from the studio. “3 songs down today for album number Should I drop another sneak peek?” the singer captioned the clip, which finds her padding across a studio into a vocal booth.

A few days later she came through with the sneak peak she teased–an acapella clip of her vocals from a vocal session.

The lyrics go “He said dance like no one’s watching, whatever you do, and if life gives you…but always be you, because girl it’s a big world… So dance like no one’s watching.”

2.5 billion global career streams

Gabby’s debut album, Goldmine, featured songs that have surpassed 2.5 BILLION global career streams. Her Top 5 “Pick Me Up” single is platinum, joining her 7x Platinum single, “I Hope.” and 3x Platinum “The Good Ones.”

Recently, Gabby was nominated for two CMT Awards. Her latest single “Pick Me Up” received nods for Video of the Year and Female Video of the year. She recently posted on social media, asking fans to vote for her at vote.cmt.com.

Also, back in January, Gabby added her vocals for a duet with American Idol season 11 alum Colton Dixon on his “Build a Boat” single. “Thanks so much for having me join you on this song,” Gabby wrote in an Instagram post. “You killed this!” Colton responded in a comment. “Honored to have you.”

“I respect Colton’s creativity as an artist and was already a big fan of ‘Build A Boat’ before he reached out to collaborate,” Gabby shared in a press statement. “These lyrics really hit me, and it’s such a blessing to be a part of this new version and to be able to honor our Lord in this way.”

Amid recording her next album, the country singer is raising a family of two with husband and fellow American Idol alum, Cade Foehner. The couple welcomed their second child, a son named Augustine Boone last October.
