It’s just a little snip, but watch American Idol 2nd runner up Gabby Barrett cover Carrie Underwood’s newest single, “Cry Pretty.”
Gabby was brought to tears after meeting Carrie when the country superstar and season 4 winner mentored the Top 5 contestants on the show. “I’ve looked up to you my whole entire life!” Gabby gushed to Carrie after giving her a big hug. “I started singing country music because of you.”
On the show, Gabby performed the sassy “Last Name.” With “Cry Pretty,” she takes on one of Carrie’s more emotional songs.

“Getting prepared for the next few insane months!!” Gabby writes on Facebook, “Looking forward to seeing everyone. I’m writing and recording in between practicing for the idol tour. Also I will be touring all over Florida and a bunch of other places this Fall.”

Additionally, Gabby reveals that she’ll be performing with Luke Bryan at the end of the month. “When I was 15 I wrote a few extra lines onto Luke’s Song and sang over the track,” she writes, “Now I’m actually going to be performing with him on the 30th!!!” Check out the song on Gabby’s Facebook page.
