It’s your first look at Allison Williams as Peter Pan.
The Girls star, and daughter of NBC news anchor, Brian Williams, was cast last month in the title role of NBC’s Peter Pan Live.
The first casting announcement came a few weeks earlier at the TCA summer press tour, when it was revealed that veteran actor (and hoofer!) Christopher Walken would play Captain Hook. Christian Borle, fresh from the previous year’s The Sound of Music Live and an earlier turn on Smash, has also been cast–in a duel role as Mr. Darling/Smee.
The success of The Sound of Music Live, starring American Idol alum, Carrie Underwood, proved viewers had an appetite for live television. Soon, NBC was looking for another Broadway musical to air during the holiday season. The network settled on another childhood favorite, Peter Pan.
As we await further casting news, we have a sneak peek of what to expect when Peter Pan Live! broadcasts across the country on December 4. Allison is pretty convincing as a ginger, don’t you think? The cross dressing is working for her!
