Dancing With The Stars 34 Recap: 2025 TikTok Night Week 3 Live Blog

Good Tuesday Everyone :)

Welcome to week three of season thirty-four of Dancing with the Stars. Tonight, social media will run the show. It’s “Tik Tok” week. Routines will be based on songs and dances made popular by going viral online. After the dancing is complete, the third couple of the season will be eliminated.

Last week, the first two couples were sent packing in a dramatic double elimination. Corey Feldman and Baron Davis saw their time on the show end after just two dances. Four couples ended up tied for top scores while Andy & Emma remain at the bottom. It will be interesting to see which couples are able to pull away from the others and whether Andy can survive another week if he again scores low.

Your votes will be combined with the judges scores to determine which couple will have danced for the last time. Remember, VOTING begins at the top of the show and concludes after the final dance of the evening.

Season 31 champion Charli D’Amelio will be on hand to participate in some of the night’s dancing, including a special routine with her former partner, Mark Ballas

Quick opening routine tonight. Charli was featured in that number but it was real fast. She’ll be back to dance again later. Not too much time to mess about. The competition starts now…

Drinking game- take a sip tonight each time Tik Tok is mentioned. No, please don’t. I kid. :)

Jen & Jan – Cha-Cha-Cha

Solid routine. Jan was good here with the choreography because I saw a nice fusion between actual cha-cha-cha steps and some modern moves that appeal to the demographic that watches those quick dance videos online. Jan is a good dancer. My only critique is that at times, she looks like she may go off balance a bit. It is like she is teetering on the edge. But practice will fix that right up. A really good opening

Bruno calls it an easy delivery. He cautions that the feet need better placement and a little cleaner on the finishes. Carrie Ann is impressed by the joy and the sexy but warns about hyperextension. Derek thought the performance was good but he wants quicker turns and spots. He feels her performance quality is evolving.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 19/30

VOTE for Jen & Jan at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting JEN to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Lauren & Brandon – Cha-Cha-Cha

That was nice! A few minor moments in the dance when Lauren’s arms were not exactly doing what they were supposed to be doing but you had to pay really close attention to see it. Otherwise, she looks really great in that yellow and I really enjoyed the solo moments Brandon gave her in there. Again, a nice mix of cha-cha-cha and contemporary choreography. Real fun to watch.

Carrie Ann likes the way Lauren moves. She wants to see more pop in her step. She wants more dynamics. Derek looks forward to Lauren’s dances. He wants some more attack and fire. Bruno says Lauren has talent but needs to see more of light and shade. He doesn’t want it all on the same level.

Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 18/30

VOTE for Lauren & Brandon at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting LAUREN to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Charli & Mark are out to do a quick little routine leading us in from the break. A really good reminder on why these two won their season. Even in a quick dose, they dance so well together. I need to go back and watch the dances these two performed back in season 31.

Danielle & Pasha – Foxtrot

Smart of them to bring up Sabrina Carpenter in the rehearsal package. She’s one of the hottest acts today so getting some of her fans to watch and maybe vote is clever. This was an ok routine. I wasn’t overly impressed by the choreography. It was rather basic and Danielle can do more. She also has to watch that frame. It got a bit wonky. But she was graceful and it was pretty to watch.

Derek finds her so pleasant to watch. He liked seeing the foxtrot fundamentals. He wants her to use her whole body in those arm extensions. Bruno calls it lovely. He says the TikTok didn’t take away from the style of the dance. Carrie Ann agrees with her fellow judges. She finds that Danielle is growing but tells her to work on the body contact.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 21/30

VOTE for Danielle & Pasha at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting Danielle to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Jordan & Ezra – Tango

Hmm. I’m on the fence with this one. It was a good tango but perhaps that overbearing song is just something I have heard way too much of this year. The routine fell a little flat for me. I expect fiery passion with the tango and sharp steps. I got a nice amount of the latter but not so much of the former. Make no mistake- Jordan is a really good dancer but I am going to need Ezra to step up better with the routines and really make her shine.

Jordan is crying because it was “really hard.” She is crying out of relief that she was able to let go. Bruno tells her not to cry. He says her improvement has been astonishing. He calls it her best dance. Carrie Ann says she was smooth and fierce. Derek was really impressed by the frame despite the height difference. He says she turned anxiety into artistry. Haha- I see what you did there Derek. Clearly, the judges and I were seeing two differen things there on a whole. :)

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

VOTE for Jordan & Ezra at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting JORDAN to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Dylan & Daniella – Foxtrot

Dylan said he will raise a Justin Bieber to Danielle’s Sabrina Carpenter. Again, smart choice to mention a popular social media/pop star in these rehearsal packages. Well, this had some good and not so good moments. The hold was decent. It was Dylan’s first time in frame and he handled that quite well. But similar to the first routine tonight, I felt like he could go off balance at anytime. Again, refinement through practice is key. It was a decent performance that could have been better. I do need to compliment him on the growth since the first week, especially going from latin to ballroom this week.

Carrie Ann is torn. She says Dylan is still in the beginner group but he is learning technique well. Derek calls it smooth as silk. He is most impressed by the control and stride in the foxtrot. He tells him to remember to tuck that booty under. Bruno labels it smoldering. He compliments the control and says that what they want.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 23/30

VOTE for Dylan & Daniella at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting DYLAN to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Elaine & Alan – Tango

Wow. That might have been my favorite performance of the night so far. I love how into these routines Elaine is. She is an actress so she is able to tap into that performance quality and excel with it. But the actual tango here was really good as well. Very strong steps with a heck of a lot of staccato movement and good leg work. I feel like Elaine could be a quiet dark horse this season if she keeps on this trajectory. Really good stuff there.

Derek calls Elaine badass. He says she is such a performer. He wants a much wider frame and to watch her shoulder. Bruno says she gets the character right. He says she needs to use her core more. Carrie Ann begins by making no sense. Truly, she is talking gibberish. Then she finally decides to speak English and calls Elaine incredible and strong but tells her she is too independent. She wants Elaine and Alan to work better together.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 21/30

VOTE for Elaine & Alan at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting ELAINE to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Whitney & Mark – Samba

I could have done without that cell phone interlude in the middle of the routine. It took me out of what was a really good samba for a moment. A bit disappointed that Mark didn’t opt for some samba rolls. They would have looked really good on Whitney. Also, and this is odd for Mark but a bit too much reliance on the tiktok dance aspect. I wanted some more classic samba and a little less raunchy contemporary dancing. But, that’s a personal thing and in no way takes away from the merit of the dance quality. I feel like Len Goodman when he used to poo poo on more modern dances. It is subjective after all.

Bruno loved the bounce in the samba. He says Whitney got that bounce down. Carrie Ann calls samba a very difficult dance and says Whitney was in control this week because she can get a little wild. Derek is kind of speechless. He says it was mesmerizing.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

VOTE for Whitney & Mark at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting WHITNEY to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Scott & Rylee – Jazz

Jazz on DWTS. In other words, whatever you want to choreography and call it jazz will work. I mean, it was basically a routine you would see on an awards show during a performance by a pop star. That’s not a knock because those routines are hard and Scott and Rylee were very much in-sync, especially side by side. The idea of jazz though for me is just something a bit different and more stylistic but I think Scott’s fans will eat this up. It was a very TikTok night worthy dance.

Carrie Ann says Scott took up all the space and was in his element tonight. Derek has one word- red for red hot. He agrees Scott shined in that dance. Bruno felt he was in his comfort zone and loved how his personality suited the dance.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 22/30

VOTE for Scott & Rylee at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting SCOTT to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Charli is really getting her due tonight as she is out with the troupe for another dance. What would the show have done if she wasn’t available this evening? Anyways…

Hilaria & Gleb – Samba

Oh Hilaria. That moment where you told your husband to not speak when you do went viral not because people thought it was funny but because you looked very mean for it. Just saying. But I appreciate her making fun of herself a bit. Yay for samba rolls. And good samba rolls. It was a solid routine with a lot of content though again, I think a little more practice would have worked wonders. I saw some wobbly movements a couple of times though nothing that ruined the dance. Another very competent performance. I wonder if she is connecting with the voting audience.

Derek says that Hilaria is in a league of her own technically and loved the samba rolls. He has no real critique. Bruno says it was a classic samba. He just wanted a bit more bounce. A touch more fluidity is what he wants to see. Carrie Ann says Len would have loved that samba. She says that the musicality was off and it through her a bit. But she tells Hilaria she is a wonderful dancer.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 8, Bruno- 7 = 22/30

VOTE for Hilaria & Gleb at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting HILARIA to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Andy & Emma – Foxtrot

Aww. Poor Andy. I so love his commitment and his verve for this show but that was kind of… well, bad. It wasn’t elegant at all and I don’t even know what that extended part with the camera was. Probably Emma’s attempt at not having Andy do to much dancing. Look, I give the guy credit because he is clearly not a dancer but the level this season is very high and he really is the low hanging fruit right now. Not much more to offer on that.

Bruno says love is in the air. He saw more content. But it still needs a lot of work. Carrie Ann tells him to feel love. She loves that he is giving it his heart. She agrees that he has a ways to go. Derek calls it a beautiful moment. He doesn’t talk about the dancing- only the heart. Okay then.

Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 18/30

REALLY? The same score as Lauren & Brandon? I know Lauren went early tonight which results in lower scores but you can’t give her an 18 and then match that score with the routine we just saw. The math just isn’t mathing.

VOTE for Andy & Emma at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting ANDY to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Robert & Witney – Salsa

Well, the removal of the shirt should earn some extra votes. Not that Robert needs that. This dude is clearly in a class of his own this season when you marry technique with performance. Now look, I have to be a bit critical in saying that I would have appreciated some more salsa steps. But that’s just me being very nitpicky. What can I say? I wanna see the dance as it is supposed to be. But whatever Witney gives Robert to do, he’s aces at it. I just don’t want him to rest on being at the top and thinking he can coast to the end. Though maybe he can?

Carrie Ann says Robert Irwin is all grown up. She calls it a great performance. She wants to say more but holds back. Derek calls him strong and assertive. He says it was stiff and rigid for salsa. It needed fluidity. Bruno calls the performance wonderful but agrees with Derek that the salsa wasn’t quite there.

Carrie Ann- 8 , Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 22/30

VOTE for Robert & Witney at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting ROBERT to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

Alix & Val – Quickstep

Really good! I’m over this TikTok stuff at this point. I’ve had just about enough of the online dances mixing in with the actual routines. Call me old. Call me cranky. LOL. Some really great quickstep stuff here with those fast moving feet and intricate steps. I didn’t see any glaring errors anywhere and yes, the beginning was cool too because it was in-sync and both looked good doing it. Can we just get back to regular routines please? Really strong end to the show.

Derek says Alix glides effortlessly. He mentions one little thing about her shoulder and notes that it is a critique for everyone. Bruno calls it a sparkling performance. He labels Alix a contender. Carrie Ann rewards Alix by saying it was her best dance.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 7, Bruno- 8 = 23/30

VOTE for Alix & Val at dwtsvote.abc.com and/or via texting ALIX to 21523. Note- only US residents can vote using text method.

ELIMINATION TIME!

As week three comes to a close, it is that time again to send a couple packing. Here we go…

The couples who are safe are– Jordan & Ezra, Jen & Jan, Whitney & Mark, Robert & Witney, Hilaria & Gleb. Alix & Val, Scott & Rylee, Dylan & Daniella, and Danielle & Pasha.

The final safe couples are Elaine & Alan and Andy & Emma.

Lauren & Brandon are ELIMINATED! WOW. JUST WOW.

Lauren remarks that she is “pissed.” YAY for honesty. I’d be pissed as well. You see, say what you want about audience votes but when the judges are grading on a curve and assign the same score to two couples who are NIGHT and DAY from one another, these shocking boots happen. Especially when you have a beloved tv star getting that sympathy vote. I am surprised yet not surprised. I’ve been following this show long enough to know what can happen.

(Disney/Eric McCandless) BRANDON ARMSTRONG, LAUREN JAUREGUI, ALFONSO RIBEIRO, JULIANNE HOUGH

Now let’s see what the judges do next week. Watch them slap Andy with horrendously low scores in an attempt to “fix” this. That wouldn’t be an issue if the scoring was right from the jump. Did Lauren’s voters just assume she’d be okay tonight and not vote? Or perhaps she just isn’t as popular as her Fifth Harmony sisters? I don’t know. But again…wow.

Next week, it is that shameless ABC we must do a DISNEY night week.

Yep, get ready for the ABC network to shamelessly promote the heck out of Disney and label it the most magical night of the season. Snark aside, I do hope you join me for it and thanks for watching tonight! Have a great week everyone.
