UPDATE: Empire and Survivor rise in the final ratings

Survivor: Survivor 2.5 (18-49) 9.70 Million Viewers
Empire came back as big as ever. Premiere numbers vs last season were way up and just a tad lower than it’s series high. While many shows are returning to the schedule with diminished numbers, Empire continues to defy the odds. Somewhere deep in the bowels of FOX, and executive is making sacrifices to a very special deity.
Nashville came back a bit lower than last season. Note that the show has accumulated enough episodes to keep the syndication gods happy. The show’s low ratings will make it especially vulnerable to the possibility of cancellation this year. By the way, AXS TV, the same channel that picked up XFactor UK, is airing repeats on Saturday night, FYI.

The second season premiere of Empire earned a massive 6.5 adults 18-49 rating, way up from the 3.9 last season’s premiere earned, and just shy of the series high 6.9 last season’s finale earned. On CBS, the premiere of Survivor earned a 2.4, down from the 2.7 last fall’s premiere earned. The season finale of Big Brother earned a 2.2, up from last week’s 1.8 adults 18-49 rating. The season premiere of Nashville earned a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating, down a tenth from the 1.4 last season’s premiere earned.
