DWTS 32: Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough Dance Together in New Promo

Dancing with the Stars 32 features hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough in new key art and promo

Dancing With The Stars revealed the key art for season 32 on Monday (August 21), featuring hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and newbie Julianne Hough. Julianne takes over for three season host Tyra Banks who parted ways with the show earlier this year. It’s Alfonso’s second season at the helm.

When Alfonso hosted with Tyra, he interviewed the contestants in the sky box, while Tyra stood on the floor with the contestants in front of the judges as they waited for their scores. Julianne will now take over skybox duties while Alfonso serves as the main host, waiting alongside the couples on the floor.

Dancing with the Stars returns to ABC after one year streaming on Disney+ only. It’s a change that might well be attributed to the writers and actors strike, which has left networks and streamers scrambling to fill their schedules with non scripted content.

DWTS will air on ABC and Disney+ simultaneously on the East coast and on demand the next day via Hulu.

DWTS still waiting on a premiere date

While ABC continues to shuffle the schedule, they have yet to reveal a premiere date for Dancing with the Stars. The full cast will be revealed on Good Morning America September 13. So far, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix has been made an official member of the season 32 cast.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough (Julianne’s brother) and Bruno Tonioli will all return for the new season. Former head judge Len Goodman passed away in April after a battle with bone cancer. He officially retired at the end of season 31.

Beginning with season one, Tom Bergeron hosted DWTS with various co-hosts. But that ended in 2020 after the executive producer Andrew Llinares abruptly fired him and co-host Erin Andrews, replacing them With Tyra, who also received an executive producer credit.

While Llinares stated publicly that a shakeup was due, behind the scenes he and Bergeron didn’t see eye to eye. When the producer cast controversial former Trump flak Sean Spicer in 2019, Bergeron tweeted his displeasure with casting he considered divisive. Llinares departed from DWTS as producer after season 30.

For the first time ever, Dancing with the Stars co-hosts dance together in a promo. Maybe Alfonso and Julianne will perform together during the season. Alfonso is a former DWTS winner, while Julianne served as a pro-dancer and judge in the past.
